Vehicle monitoring: understand the last reported position
A marker shows information received from a device. Knowing when and how that information was reported is as important as knowing where the marker is.
Check the timestamp before acting
A last reported position can remain on screen when a device has not sent a new update. Check the report time and connection status. An old position does not establish that a vehicle is still there.
Reporting depends on the device settings, power, satellite reception and mobile connectivity. Ask how the agreed service identifies delayed or missing reports and what your team should do when one appears.
Confirm alerts and history in your service
Journey history and alerts depend on the data the device reports and the functions configured for the account. Ask which events are enabled, how notifications are delivered and what retention applies.
Do not treat a sample map, a hardware feature list or an illustrative alert as proof that a function is active in your account. Verify the agreed functions during handover and keep support details available.
Know the boundary of the service
InCommand tracking is not a guaranteed vehicle recovery or emergency response service. A tracking enquiry, hardware purchase or monthly monitoring request does not create that promise.
Our on-site interactive preview uses illustrative vehicles and sample journeys. It does not connect to customer vehicles. Discuss your actual requirements, including account access and data handling, before agreeing activation.
